This weekend I had the chance to try a friend’s LG Shine cell phone. Its a beautifull piece of design.
It was obvious which Microsoft technologies and patents LG used in this product:
- Microsoft fonts as Verdana or Tahoma
- Possibly their font rendering technologies including TrueType bytecode interpreter
- Is a wheel to browse menus (as on the mouse) a Microsoft patent ?




I think the wheel thing is actually a Sony patent.
Yes, the Sony P800 and alike have a very good wheel, long before it was used in other phones.
